Gokyo-Cho La Pass trek is one of the popular and challenging trekking in Everest region. Trekking to Everest Base Camp via Gokyo and Cho La Pass offers magnificent views of stunning Himalayan peaks and rich Sherpa culture and traditions.
Gokyo Cho-La Pass trekking starts after a scenic mountain flight to Lukla from Kathmandu about 35 minutes. Trekking starts from Lukla to Phakding heading to Namche Bazaar following the bank of Dudhkoshi River . The trail to Gokyo is a gradual ascent up the valley passing through patches of birch and rhododendron forest where the elusive musk deer can sometimes be seen on the way. Through small yak-grazing settlements we reach the Gokyo lakes where we climb the Gokyo Ri (5,480m) and enjoy stunning summit mountain scenery including Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyo and Lhotse. Those mountains are above 8,000m. After the Cho La pass, we reach Dzongla. The views of Ama Dablam and Taweche are spectacular. After the Dzongla , we continue ascend towards Gorak Shep and climb to impressive up-close view point of Everest calls Kala Pattar (5,545m). Our return route passes through Tengboche, a magnificent location with a fascinating monastery, where we rest and savor the incredible scenery, including magnificent views of Everest, Ama Dablam (6,856m), Kantega (6,809m), Kwangde (6,194m), Nuptse (7,879m), Lhotse (8,511m) and many more trekking peaks of the Khumbu region. However the trekking to Gokyo Cho La pass trekking is relatively difficult but it offers the excellent views of high Himalayas and panoramic view of glacier lakes in Gokyo valley. During the Gokyo Chola Pass trekking you will encounter with various local villages, monasteries which gives you delights into the Buddhist religion, culture and tradition. Day 01 : Pick up you from International airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 02 : Half day City Sightseeing and preparation for upcoming adventure.
Day 03 : Fly to Lukla (2,800m) and continue trek to Phakding (2,610m)
Day 04 : Trek Phakding – Namche Bazaar (3,420m)
Day 05 : Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar (Ascend to Everest view point, visit twins Sherpa villages of Khumjung and Khunde)
Day 06 : Trek Namche Bazaar – Phortse Tenga (3,680m)
Day 07 : Trek Phortse Tenga – Dole (4,090m)
Day 08 : Trek Dole to Machhermo (4,410m)
Day 09 : Trek Machhermo – Goky (4,750m)
Day 10 : Side Trip towards to Cho Oyu Base Camp along the Ngazumpa Glacier
Day 11 : Ascend to Gokyo Ri (5,360m)
Day 12 : Trek to Lungden after Crossing Renjo La pass (5,360m)
Day 13 : Trek Lungden to Namche Bazaar
Day 15 : Trek back to Lukla
Day 16 : Fly back to Kathmandu
Day 17 : Leisure in Kathmandu
Day 18 : Final Departure, drop you to airport, Say good bye.
