The Mundum Trail trekking route lies lower east of Solukhumbu valley suitable for those getting old, family, students, or on honeymoon holiday to understand about traditional culture and livelihood of the Kirat people. They still follow customs during birth, death, marriage, and other rituals.
The approach to Chakhewa trekking passes through many Kirat settlements like dhotre, Mayum, and Rawadhap, rivers, streams, chirping birds, deep green forest of pine and rhododendrons blooming in the spring season, and wild insects alongside a unique experience amidst hills and the delightful mountain of Kanchenjunga range.
Another major attraction of this route is Salpa Lake and Silichhong peak which is a breathtaking bird's eye view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Lhotse, Mera Peak, Mt. Chamlamg, Mt. Number, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Chalachuli and Mt. Kanchenjunga range.
